Does your Kerator Straumann Overdenture Abutment work with the Straumann BLX System?

No. The Kerator Straumann Overdenture abutment for Bone Level implants is indicated only for the Standard Straumann Bone Level (BL) implants with the CrossFit Connection. It is not indicated for the Straumann Bone Level X (BLX) Implant system, which uses the TorcFit connection. Parts for the CrossFit Connection and TorcFit connection are not compatible. Note: We also have Kerator Abutments for the Straumann Tissue Level Implants.

Specifically, the standard Straumann Bone Level (BL) implants use the CrossFit connection, which features:

  • Provides a clear-cut insertion through the guidance by 4 grooves and the deep, conical connection.
  • Ensures precision against rotation through orthogonal fit between implant and abutment.
  • Gives prosthetic flexibility with mechanical long-term stability through its conical connection.

The Straumann Bone Level X (BLX) Implant system, however, introduced a new connection called the TorcFit™ connection. This connection supports self-guiding insertion, for clearcut tactile feedback. Six positions enable a simple yet flexible alignment and outstanding protection against rotation.

Features of TorcFit include:

  • Reduced 7° cone angle provides a tight conical seal and prosthetics with slim emergence profiles
  • Flat top for auxiliaries for accurate impression taking.
  • Outer shoulder for bridges and crowns with wide emergence profiles.
