Geistlich Bio-Oss Cancellous Granules are a type of xenograft. Specifically, Bio-Oss® (Geistlich, Wolhusen, Switzerland) is a deproteinized sterilized bovine bone constituted by a calcium-deficient carbonate apatite, and is identical to human bone from a chemical and physical point of view.
We offer a comparable product called, OsseoSeal Bovine Bone Graft. OsseoSeal is a private label of SYNERGY bovine graft and it has 510-K Approval by FDA as substantially equivalent to BioOss. The FDA granted approval of the Odontit 510-K for SYNERGY demonstrating substantial equivalence in 2014. It is available in .25-1mm particle size Particle Size: 0.5CC, 1.0CC and 4.0cc.
Based upon comparison of the intended use, biocompatibility, sterility, physical and chemical testing, and the performance evaluation of the subject and predicate device in an anatomically relevant animal model, and the results of clinical cases, Odontit concluded that SYNERGY (also sold under the brand name OsseoSeal and Cevoss) is substantially equivalent to the predicate devices Bio-Oss® and Equimatrix™.
